The California Statewide Study of People Experiencing Homelessness

The California Statewide Study of People Experiencing Homelessness (CASPEH), conducted by The University of California, San Francisco Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative (BHHI), is the largest representative study of homelessness in the United States since the mid-1990s. The study provides a comprehensive look at the causes and consequences of homelessness in California and recommends policy changes to shape programs in response.

Reducing Homelessness for People with Behavioral Health Needs Leaving Prisons and Jails

“This report highlights 5 areas where people with behavioral health needs leaving California prisons and jails (i.e., the report’s “target population)” experience the greatest challenges in accessing housing. It also provides 10 complementary recommendations for actions that state, county, and local leaders can take to reduce homelessness among this population.”

Senior Homelessness: A Needs Assessment

A needs assessment conducted in San Diego County focused on older adults at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. The report provides recommendations for combating homelessness among older adults.
